Benjamas Penboon is a Ph.D. Student in Demography from the Institute for Population and Social Research at Mahidol University, Thailand.
From April to September 2018, she worked with Dr. Zimmer on her Dissertation titled “The Impact of Transnational Labor Migration on Mental Health of Left-behind Family: Care Drain and Care Chain Situation in Thailand.” Benjamas’ visit to Halifax was made possible by the Royal Golden Jubilee Scholarship Programme, through the Thailand Research Fund.
